one smells it, observes it,
tastes it, sips it and
one talks about it"

Mortality and Morbidity of Wine

Gronbaek M. et al 1995 (British Medical Journal (1995) 310:1165 1169) showed that wine drunk sensibly and in moderation decreased the risk of mortality  for men up to 35g ethanol (alcohol)
per day resulted in a similar risk of mortality as a non-drinker but at the level of half this a distinct decrease in the relative risk of total mortality was significant; women had a similar trend but the amount of ethanol was roughly half that of the male.
